STVM Engineering is the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics ("STEM") immersion experience offered at St. Vincent – St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. For over 3 years, this program has been developed from a club or activity into a truly enriching and unequivocally fun experience for all of its members. The three main disciplines of STVM Engineering are SLI, FTC, and TARC. SLI, or Student Launch Initiative, is as NASA states, "a research-based, competitive and experiential exploration project that provides relevant and cost-effective research and development to support the Space Launch System, SLS." FTC stands for FIRST Tech Challenge, and STVM's robotics team focuses largely upon competing in it by developing and utilizing their knowledge of programming and robots to complete difficult tasks. And lastly, TARC is the Team America Rocketry Challenge, a competition that the Irish Rocket Team aims to conquer every year by creating the best rocket that meets all of their goals and can bring them to victory. You can learn a bit more about each of these programs by following the respective link on the navigation bar under the logo.
This website is run, maintained, and operated by Mr. Robert Engels, the SLI Advisor, Robotics and Rocket Team Coordinator and Coach, and the Science Department Chair at St. Vincent – St. Mary High School. Kevin Feezel, a senior in the class of 2017, currently is the lead developer of stvmsli.com.
